The Earth is Getting Really Hot – Not
In January of this year, in speaking to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, former Vice President Al Gore gave an ‘impassioned’ speech about climate change.
The self-appointed eco-warrior warned the group assembled about ‘rain bombs’ and ‘boiling oceans’ facing Earth if drastic changes aren’t made to address the environmental concerns – exacerbated by burning fossil fuels. BTW, he flew home in his private jet.
In line with the ‘accepted’ narrative, our mainstream media, in their attempts to scare the hell out of us about everything, now reports daily on weather extremes around the country.
It’s obvious, whether stated or not – and many times it is stated – the heat indices, the ‘feels like’ temps, storms, wildfires, etc. in various parts of the country are directly attributable to global warming – aka, climate change.
The fact is the 1930’s was hotter.
I thought you might be interested in some additional facts based on observation and a little research.

I would only add this concern that’s likely attributable to climate change: ‘cattle mutilations have been going up every year.’

SPIDER Bites
This week’s trivia question: What animal’s nickname is “sea cow”? The answer to last week’s color of a plane’s black box: bright orange. The ‘blackbox’ originated in British and Allied combat aircraft during WWII. The color was later changed to make it more visible after a crash – but the name didn’t. I don’t know why.
Many in the media are blaming global warming for the many recent flight delays and cancelations. The likely biggest contributor to the problem is the FAA is 20% short – or 3,000 – air traffic controllers. Hiring was stopped during the pandemic while many controllers quit, were fired, or retired. It’s apparently too much to expect our Transportation Dept. Secretary to get on it in a big way.
Last week Space X had its 44th launch of the year – all successful. Talk about dominating the commercial satellite business.
A federal judge last week in Delaware nixed the ‘sweetheart’ tax evasion and gun violation deal the DOJ made with Hunter Biden. Prosecutors were unable to answer the judge’s simple questions about the deal and immunity going forward. Maybe there’s still hope for ‘equal’ justice in the country.
You know what gets ‘old’ these days? – that corrections are necessary to factualize statements by politicians. Latest example: VP Kamala Harris making a partisan speech about Florida’s K-12 black history curriculum claiming children will now be taught about how enslaved people benefited from slavery. It’s so wrong it’s beyond a lie and deserves no further comment.
The Federal Reserve, as expected, raised the federal funds rate to 5.3% last week – the 11th raise in 17 months to counter government overspending and oil dependency. Fixed mortgage rates are now hovering + or – 7%. The now $32B+ national debt is becoming more and more expensive as more tax receipts are needed to pay the higher interest rates required to sell treasuries.
More parents are taking advantage of Florida’s expanded school voucher program. Through July 20, some 240,000 families/students have been approved this year compared to 173,000 at the same time last year. The state increased that portion of the education budget this year to 10% versus last year’s 3%. Parents can choose where they want their kids to go to school – including private schools.
As oil futures approach $80/barrel again, gasoline prices are up an average of 13 cents in the past week. Our declining domestic supply is allowing OPEC to control the prices once again. Our foreign dependent gasoline inventories are down 4% over the past year. Isn’t Bidenomics wonderful?
Americans’ retirement confidence is ‘the lowest it’s ever been’: BlackRock found that only 56% of folks say they feel on track for retirement, down from 63% in 2022 and 68% in 2021.
